A 45th Infantry Officers/Doctors dog tags from WWII. Excellent condition. Both tags have the Next of Kin listed and still on a period cotton shoestring. Lt. Col. Walter H. Miles was a practicing physician and the Director of the Oklahoma City Health Department when the 45th Infantry Division was federalized in 1940. Dr. Miles joined the 45th in 1923 as a first lieutenant. Succeeding promotions brought him through captain, major, and Lt. Col. Dr. Miles saw duty in Africa and Sicily with the 45th. In 1943, he was assigned to public health work in Italy and Austria. Copy obituary will be provided.
